TOUCH OF HAPPINESS !
Sukher Chador started on 9 October 2016 (Mahashtami) when
Sandip Kr. Das (“Jajabor”) offered sweets, fruit, clothes, and fed street children at Dumdum Cantonment station in Kolkata—igniting a wave of compassion among his Facebook contacts and planting the seed for Sukher Chador . Despite the loss of their cherished “Sukher Chador Maa” in July 2018, the initiative matured quickly into a government-registered NGO dedicated to uplifting the poor, abandoned, elderly, mentally challenged, street children, tea-garden laborers, and tribal families across caste or religion . Over ten years, the organization has carried out 24 types of social interventions in 18 districts of West Bengal, reaching close to 51,000 distressed individuals. Sukher Chador maintains transparency through mandatory spot surveys, volunteers covering their own travel, official receipts, and published audit reports .
